OSU University President Dr. Gordon Gee stopped by our branch of the university for a visit to take questions and meet some of his “kids” as he called us. As Dr. Gee is known for his bow ties, my friend Eddie asked him about them. Dr. Gee mentioned that he has over 1,000 bow ties and that he tries not to wear the same one more than once a year. Eddie then asked Dr. Gee to show us how he ties his bow ties, so he stripped off his jacket and demonstrated as cameras flashed and people laughed. The school board offered us free pizza, chips, soda, and popcorn, as well as the chance to have our picture taken by a photographer with Dr. Gee. It was great to have finally met him and experience for myself just how friendly and entertaining he is. Along with Dr. Gee, Brittany, the “CW Star” for Columbus was at our school interviewing people for tv. What a coincidence as I’ll be watching Gossip Girl tonight. Oh and on my way to school, I’m pretty sure I was part of the allowance of the cute guy in my class to get pulled over on the highway, so I feel kind of bad about that, and the fact that he didn’t come to either of our classes today afterward. I shouldn’t have let the cop pass me!

Soooooo, mom and I were supposed to go to a bridal shower today but she was a wee bit hungover from the party last night, so needless to say, that did not happen. So I worked on my history take-home midterm all day until dad came in and told me that Ken was sick and could not take Kyle to the Styx / REO Speedwagon concert and that he had given the two tickets to us and that the show was TONIGHT! So I finished as much of my midterm as I could and got myself ready for the concert. Dad cooked yummy dinner but we had to hurry and eat it because the show was soon. We drove to Columbus and got there just in time to see the opening band, who, I believe was called The Outlaw. They played great but unfortunately for them, Styx came out and stole the show. They had awesome graphics on the screen behind them and great stage performance; I was totally intrigued the entire time. The keyboardist especially caught my eye because he was very theatrical and dancey and just seemed to be having the best time. His keyboard is nifty too, it spins around on its stand. They did an awesome rendition of I Am The Walrus as well! I recorded that and will maybe upload it to youtube someday. One of the original members of the band, Chuck Panozzo, came out and performed with them for most of the show which was cool. REO Speedwagon came on next and were great, but I still think Styx stole the show. I’ve seen REO Speedwagon before, so it wasn’t very new to me, but still great. Then Styx came back out and both bands played “Can’t Stop Rockin’” together, which was really neat with alll of those band members on the stage together. Dad and I had a blast singing along, so thank you Ken!

Styx! *Notice the keyboardist standing on his keyboard, heh. He was awesome*

My parents’ friend Brad turned 40 today, so his brother held a surprise birthday party for him, along with everyone wanting to watch the OSU football game. It was a nice change from everyone always being at our house on the weekends for the games. There was yummy food and of course beverages. Brad seemed to already have the surprise figured out when he arrived, but oh well, it was still great. There is an ongoing joke about underwear that the group of friends has, so almost everyone bought Brad underwear as his gifts. This was the best part, as most everyone was drunk by this point and it was loud and crazy as he opened the gifts. Later the drinking continued and then a poker game ensued. Shanda (a girl at the party) and I found 3 rubix cubes and began trying to figure them out, and now I am a little obsessed with trying to remember the algorithms and figuring it all out. We helped tidy up a bit and were the last ones to leave. All in all, a fun Saturday with fun people.

Bio midterm study guide didn’t help too much. I studied for quite a while and didn’t recognize most of what was on the midterm. Fun times, NOT. Had some general tso’s chicken and rice (it was a lunch special at school today). It tasted pretty weird, but I ate it. Probably won’t get it again. Studied more. Took Bio midterm, huge joke. Came home and waited for the UPS man to bring my latest online prize: SceneIt! for Xbox 360. It came with the clicker thingies and the game and batteries, so that was pretty awesome. I haven’t played it yet though. It’s more of a party game. I got $5.34 paypal’d to me from another lagoon website. Free is awesome. Some day I will update my referrals page and include all of the sites I’m on and hopefully try to remember everything I’ve won from each of them. Cleaned Rusty’s cage, he’s a happy hammy now. Dad ordered pizza and subs and we watched Watchmen which was a very long movie and faked me out many times (like The Dark Knight did) where I thought it was over and then it keeps going. I guess I liked it though, I’m not sure. Right now I’m listening to Ratatat and loading more songs on my Zune / fixing my song info for my songs.

Happy 5th day of Novembeard (hope your beards are growing nicely; if you aren’t growing a beard currently, you should be. Winter is soon you know). I woke up around 2pm today; I know, I agree, it’s hard work. Cleaned my room and vacuumed. My Scene It 2 for Xbox should be here tomorrow, that’s exciting. Bio midterm tomorrow, not very exciting. Mom made these yummy homemade gyros with teriyaki chicken, lettuce, and a little bit of ranch dressing on these pita bread shell things. Sooo good. Dad went to the men’s stag, so mom and I ate our gyros and watched an old episode of The Office and then Jeopardy and just finished the new episode of The Office. We lovve that show :] Now I’m watching V For Vendetta (see the beginning of this post) and working on my bio midterm study guide.

Remember remember the 5th of November…

Today was just dumb. I don’t even remember what happened that’s how pointless today was. No ok I remember meeting Nicole and the two girls from our Bio class at Steak & Shake for lunch to try to figure out our Bio quiz, but that was a joke. I did, however, have the most amazing turkey club sandwich I’ve ever tasted, mmmmmm. And I had a yummy chocolate milkshake with chocolate chips in it. Couldn’t figure out half of my bio quiz, so I’m pretty sure I failed that. Then I didn’t have much time to study for another bio quiz we had today, so I probably failed that as well. Then I sat in Warner and loaded some songs on my Zune. Took a shitload of notes in history and the class actually went very fast. I came home and did random things. Watched the new episode of Modern Family which is a hilarious show and I recommend it to anyone. I’m watching a few of the previous episodes I missed right now and having an alcoholic beverage. Played some TF2 with Eddie from school, he’s a cool guy, and it was fun times. Then I started zoning out, so I’m pretty sure it’s almost time for bed. After this drink and this episode.

The plastic thing that my Zune headphones were wrapped in had this on it. And my guitar happened to be in the background because I was playing it early in the morning.

Today was filled with happiness and excitement (except right now because I’m car sick from playing with my Zune in the car on the way home, ugh)! Last night I achieved a 5001 post topic on LL, but that’s like nerd herd stuff that non-LLers won’t understand so I’m skipping that, but, feels good man. Anyway, xfd. I woke up, anxiously awaiting the arrival of the UPS man with my Zune. It finally came and I signed for it and opened it and it was a brand new limited edition red one! So I played with that for most of the day, converting movies and whatnot. Shaun of the Dead is on it at the moment. Slowly working my way through my music folders as well. I want the songs to have the correct album art and info, etc, so I’m adding songs one by one. Later my parents and I went and joined the rest of my mom’s side of the family at BW3’s to watch the election results with my grandpa, since he was running to be on city council. We waited anxiously for all of the votes to come in and he finally ended up winning against his opponent, 55% to 45%. I’m very proud of him and happy for him because he worked so hard to achieve that, so yay grandpa! Now I’m here and I forgot I have a bio quiz due tomorrow, but I don’t think I can concentrate on it right now because I don’t feel good, so I think I’m going to sleep for a little bit and then wake up and finish it in the morning and during my break between classes.

Of course most of them were outside smoking.

Slept fairly decent now that my room is clean, for the most part. Class this morning was talking all about how people are slaves to television. It felt good sitting there not being one of those people. I turn my tv on for specific shows, then I turn it right back off once the show is over. I don’t like tv. I mainly have my tv for video games. After class, I went with Nicole to her house and waited for her to take a shower. Attempted to work on our bio take home quiz due Wednesday, that was a joke. Then we went to BW3s for lunch. I had a chicken wrap with hot sauce and chips with salsa. Very yummy and fulfilling since I hadn’t eaten in a long time. We went to our bio lab and it was a really fun one, testing survival of the fittest. Now I’m sitting around outside the building, waiting for history class, but it isn’t until 5:30, so I guess I’ll read my book for a bit. I would try to work on my bio quiz, but I won’t be able to concentrate, plus I don’t have my calculator. I’m reeeally hoping my Zune came today, but I think I’ll have to wait until tomorrow to sign for it. Very exciting, I’ve been antsy about it all day. I should’ve brought my laptop to school today to start working on my music folders. I’m hoping to weed out all of the music I don’t like / listen to anymore before I start putting songs onto my Zune. I also have to figure out how to block a certain someone’s phone number because he started being very inappropriate this morning, ugh. So I have that going for me.

How I spent my break between my last 2 classes.
After I wrote this post, I watched episodes of
The Office and Modern Family on Sprint TV on my phone.
P.S – I got the Subtle Sexuality (Ft. ‘Nard Dog & introducing Mr. Understood, lol) song ‘Male Prima Donna’ from The Office webisodes.
You can download it here if you’d like.
And you can watch the music video here.

I, like most others, love daylight savings time (especially during the fall, gaining an hour of sleep). It made my pointless day even longer, but I don’t mind. I attempted to clean up my room from the disaster state it was in when I woke up this morning, but I didn’t get completely finished. It’s only 11:30, although I’m pretty tired, so maybe I will stay up a little and continue working on it. At least get my clothes away and off the floor. I’ll work on my dresser later. I’m hoping to go through every drawer in my room and organize things a little better. That was my goal for today, but of course I was distracted numerous times. Later in the evening dad and I went over to my grandma and grandpa’s house to give grandma her birthday gifts and card. When I was hanging out with my cousins Kyler and Jake in their room, I went and organized the top of their cluttered desk so they had some room to do homework. Of course I have no problem organizing other people’s things, but I can’t bear to do my own, hmph.
